Uncovering the mystery: Who is the 'Brazilian model' at the center of Rahul Gandhi's vote fraud allegations?
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Congress MP Rahul Gandhi made a sensational claim of large-scale "vote theft" in the Haryana Assembly elections in a press conference on Wednesday. Alleging 2.5 million votes were stolen in Haryana, Rahul Gandhi showed a photo of a Brazilian model (photographer) and claimed that this one woman cast 22 fake votes at 10 different booths. These allegations created a stir in political circles, while the BJP retorted, calling these allegations "an attempt to hide its failure."
Addressing a press conference, Rahul Gandhi showed a photograph of a woman and questioned, "Who is this woman? What's her name? Where is she from? But she votes 22 times at 10 different booths in Haryana and has many names: Seema, Sweety, Saraswati, Rashmi, Wilma... But it turns out she's actually a Brazilian model."
Following Rahul's allegations, the Congress party also took to social media. Kerala Congress wrote on X, "Brazilian citizen Matheus Ferrero cast his vote in Haryana under 22 names, from Sweety to Saraswati. Amazing. Election Commission, do you need more proof that the Haryana elections were completely rigged?"
However, the person named by Congress (Mathias Ferraro) is a photographer, not a model.
The Congress party wrote on its official 'X' handle, "Brazilian model in Haryana's voter list... She gets to vote 22 times in 10 booths. Clearly, this isn't the work of the BLO. This fake data was entered into the database from the central government."
BJP MP and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju immediately hit back at Rahul Gandhi's allegations, saying that his allegations were baseless.
Rijiju said, "Rahul Gandhi addressed the press to hide his failure. In the last session, he went around wearing a woman's name on a T-shirt. Later, that woman objected. Today, he was mentioning the name of a foreign woman. He keeps going abroad. He keeps talking about the inspiration he gets from there and wastes time."
