Uttarkashi (The Uttam Hindu): Cloudburst in Dharali area of Uttarkashi on Tuesday has caused massive destruction. Life has been badly affected due to this incident. SDRF, NDRF and district administration teams are engaged in relief and rescue work on the spot.

According to the information, a cloudburst occurred in Dharali area near Harshil on Tuesday morning. A village was washed away in this incident and many residents are reportedly missing. Large scale damage has been reported in the local market area after the sudden rise in water level, after which the police, fire department, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the Indian Army have started immediate action. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami informed about the cloudburst incident in Uttarkashi through social media platform X. He said that the news of heavy damage caused by cloudburst in Dharali (Uttarkashi) area is very sad and painful. SDRF, NDRF, district administration and other related teams are engaged on a war footing for relief and rescue operations. I am constantly in touch with senior officials in this regard and the situation is being closely monitored. I pray to God for everyone's safety.

Giving information about the accident on X, Uttarakhand Police said, "There has been a report of damage in Dharali market area due to rising water level in Dharali, Kheer Gadh of Uttarkashi. Police, fire, SDRF and other disaster management teams including Army are engaged in relief and rescue work on the spot. " Meanwhile, officials have urged the local people to maintain distance from the river banks and ensure the safety of children and animals. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued an alert for many areas of Uttarakhand on August 4. The IMD had issued a warning of extremely heavy rain in parts of Uttarakhand including Uttarkashi, Pauri Garhwal, Tehri and Chamoli.
