Deadly Obsession: Woman Murders Husband Weeks After Wedding to Pursue Affair with Uncle
Aurangabad (The Uttam Hindu): In a sensational case, a woman became so blinded by her love for her maternal uncle that she had her husband murdered. This shocking incident has come to light in Bihar’s Aurangabad district. Acting swiftly, police arrested three people, including the woman herself. Investigations revealed that the deceased’s wife was the main conspirator behind the murder.
According to information, Priyanshu alias Chhotu died while he was returning on a two-wheeler. Shockingly, this incident occurred even as the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case is already under investigation, in which his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi is accused of plotting her husband’s murder.
Media reports say that a woman named Gunja Singh conspired to kill her husband Priyanshu just 45 days after their marriage. In this case, police have arrested Gunja Singh and two other accused. According to the police, on the night of June 24, the accused carried out this heinous crime. It is said that as Priyanshu was returning to his village, the attackers ambushed him on the road and shot him dead.
Speaking to India Today, Superintendent of Police Ambrish Rahul said, “A man named Jeevan contacted contract killers, and this murder was carried out just 45 days after the marriage.”
Revealing the details, the police official said that Gunja Singh was having an illicit relationship with her maternal uncle Jeevan. Even after her marriage, their relationship continued, and Gunja began to see her husband as an obstacle. Therefore, Gunja and Jeevan plotted Priyanshu’s murder together. Police formed a special investigation team (SIT) for a thorough probe into the case.
The SP further said, “Based on call detail records, close examination of CCTV footage, and intelligence inputs, Gunja Singh was arrested along with two others — Jaishankar and Mukesh Sharma.” During interrogation, Gunja confessed to her involvement. Meanwhile, police are searching for other absconding accused. Police also revealed that Gunja was unhappy with the marriage and had agreed to it only under her father’s pressure.
