Financial Assistance for Pilgrims : UP CM Yogi Adityanath Launches Schemes for Buddhist and Sikh Devotees
Lucknow (The Uttam Hindu): The Bauddha Teertha Darshan Yojana and the Panch Takht Yatra Yojana are two new pilgrimage assistance programs that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has introduced to help Buddhist and Sikh devotees travel for spiritual purposes. These programs seek to improve social harmony and spiritual well-being by giving money to the less fortunate segments of society.
Key Features of the Schemes:
Bauddha Teertha Darshan Yojana:
1. Financial assistance of ₹10,000 per person for Buddhist pilgrims
2. Priority given to Buddhist monks and economically weaker sections
3. Pilgrims will visit major Buddhist sites across India
Panch Takht Yatra Yojana:
1.Financial assistance of ₹10,000 per person for Sikh pilgrims
2. Sikh devotees will visit the five sacred Takht Sahib sites:
Shri Anandpur Sahib (Punjab)
Shri Akal Takht Sahib (Amritsar, Punjab)
Shri Damdama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo, Punjab)
Shri Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazur Sahib (Nanded, Maharashtra)
Shri Harmandir Ji Sahib (Patna Sahib, Bihar)
Implementation:
1. The application process will be entirely online
2. Priority will be given to people from economically weaker sections
3. The schemes will be operated in collaboration with IRCTC
4. Focus on convenience, safety, and religious sentiments of devotees
These initiatives aim to strengthen the state's inclusive development policy and promote national integration under the vision of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'.
