No Work, No Calls, No Support—Famous Celebrity Breaks Down After Industry Abandonment
Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Actress Payal Ghosh opened up about her struggles with depression and anxiety over the past two years, a tough time largely brought on by a lack of work. She shared that during this challenging period, she felt completely unsupported—neither by the industry nor by her family and friends—and often found herself crying alone, trapped within her own home.
To cope with her mental health issues, Payal turned to professional help and medication. She reflected on how the two-year hiatus from work took a toll on her both financially and emotionally. “I didn’t receive any support from the industry, not even from those I had collaborated with, or from my loved ones. I felt utterly isolated. Every actor faces a time when it seems like everything is against them, no matter how hard they try — those past two years were exactly that for me. I cried alone countless times. I shut myself in my home, battling anxiety, stress, and shock. Neither my family nor the industry was there for me,” she shared.
Payal went on to explain that she had to depend on professionals to navigate through her worsening situation. “The loneliness really took a toll on me and harmed my mental health. I needed medical assistance and support throughout those two years. Each day felt like a nightmare. Being out of work for two years is a long stretch. My savings were dwindling, and it was affecting my life.”
On a brighter note, things are starting to look up for her. Payal expressed optimism that her upcoming projects will soon connect with audiences. She also voiced a wish that no one else has to go through the kind of mental stress and anxiety she faced.
“By God’s grace, things are finally improving, and I’ve begun receiving work offers again. I hope that soon my work will reach viewers,” she concluded.
