11th Yuva theatre festival opens in Jalandhar : “Overcoat” and “Suno Na Yaar” steal the show
Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu) : The 11th annual Yuva Theatre Festival kicked off in the city with Director Ankur Sharma inaugurating the event at the K.L. Sehgal Memorial Hall. The festival will run a series of performances until 14 December, showcasing emerging talent from across the region.
The inaugural day featured a well‑received staging of the popular play “Overcoat.” On the second day, Mumbai’s renowned Funtush Group presented “Suno Na Yaar,” a family‑centric production that left the audience with memorable moments. Actress Vibha delivered the lead role, earning praise for her performance.

Prominent attendees included Arvind and Seema Chopra of the Ramesh Chandra Memorial Trust, Surinder Seth from the Rotary Club, and SV Hans representing the Theatre K.L. Sehgal Trust. The dignitaries presented cash awards to the artists, recognizing their contributions to the theatre community.
The festival also saw participation from members of the Happily Book Club, who met the performers after the shows. The event is expected to provide a valuable platform for young actors, directors and playwrights to showcase their work and engage with theatre enthusiasts in Jalandhar.
