₹4,000 Aid for women: Punjab's 'Manva-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana' kicks off August
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Big news is coming for the women of Punjab. The Mann government is going to give women a big financial gift. According to the information received, all preparations have been made to transfer the honorarium of Rs. 4,000 to the bank accounts of women. Under this scheme, women belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category will be given special benefits and an installment of Rs. 6,000 will be sent to their accounts. This big decision is being seen as a masterstroke in view of the upcoming elections, which will directly benefit millions of women in the state and provide them with great support for their daily needs.
A special roadmap has been prepared to provide financial benefits under this scheme. According to the information, this financial assistance will be given to women in installments, which will start from this year. The first major relief will be given in the month of August this year, when an installment of Rs 4 thousand will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of women of general category and Rs 6 thousand will be transferred to the accounts of women of SC category. After this, another similar financial assistance will be provided in November also. This huge lump sum amount received at the beginning of the festive season and winter is expected to provide a lot of relief to the women.
It is noteworthy that Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema presented a massive budget of ₹260,437 crore on Sunday (March 8). At the end of the budget speech, this special scheme for women was launched under the name "Chief Minister Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar." Finance Minister Harpal Cheema announced that every general woman over 18 will receive ₹1,000 per month, while women from the Scheduled Caste category will receive ₹1,500 per month. He stated that this historic decision will cover 97 percent of Punjab's women, and a special fund of ₹9,300 crore has been set aside for this purpose. To avail of this honorarium, women will have to register themselves by April 13, the auspicious festival of Baisakhi.
