Jalandhar(The Uttam Hindu) :

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday staged a strong protest in Jalandhar against Congress leader Pargat Singh for sharing an edited and doctored video on social media with the intent to mislead the public and hurt religious sentiments. AAP leaders and workers gathered to condemn what they termed as irresponsible and politically motivated actions by the opposition.

The protest was led by AAP Minister Mohinder Bhagat, AAP leaders Tarandeep Singh Sunny and Atam Parkash Singh who jointly accused the Congress of indulging in negative and divisive politics after failing to raise genuine issues against the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government.

Addressing the protesters, Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat said that the opposition parties have no answer to the development works being carried out by the AAP government in Punjab. “Since they cannot question the Bhagwant Mann government on work and governance, they are resorting to cheap tactics like circulating doctored videos. This is a new low in politics, where facts are twisted and sentiments are played with, without caring about the consequences,” Bhagat said.

Senior AAP leader Tarandeep Singh Sunny strongly condemned the act of sharing edited videos and said that such irresponsible behaviour exposes the true face of the opposition. “In their greed for power, these leaders have not spared religion, caste, or even our revered Gurus. Deliberately sharing edited videos to mislead people is condemnable and dangerous for social harmony. The people of Punjab will never forgive such acts,” Sunny said.

AAP reiterated that it will continue to expose the false and misleading propaganda of the opposition and will stand firmly against any attempt to hurt religious sentiments or disturb communal harmony in the state.
