AAP Student Wing ASAP Launches Membership Drive, Issues QR Code Urging Students to Join the Organisation
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The Student Wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Association of Students for Alternative Politics (ASAP), has intensified its campaign to expand the organization in view of the student union elections to be held in September at Panjab University and affiliated colleges.
On Thursday, the party’s President (Chandigarh), Harinder Singh Joni, addressed a press conference at the party office in Chandigarh. He was accompanied by Organization Secretary Kawalpreet Singh, General Secretary Prince Chaudhary, and the party’s chief spokesperson Vatan Veer Singh Gill.
They launched a QR code for joining the student organisation and appealed to all university students of Chandigarh and Punjab to join ASAP. They said that students can scan this code and connect with ASAP.
Harinder Singh Joni informed that the ASAP will also reach out to all the students who join and make them aware of the organization’s strategies. Students can also submit their demands through the same QR code, and based on these demands, the party will prepare its election manifesto.
Organization Secretary Kawalpreet Singh said that their aim is not to make the election manifesto a roadmap prepared by a small group of individuals, but to make it a pledge of trust based on the students’ demands.
General Secretary Prince Chaudhary, while raising a demand from the Panjab University administration, said that PU should issue ID cards to all students at the earliest because many students have not yet received their cards. He added that ASAP has continuously fought for student rights and will continue to do so in the future as well.
Student leader Vatan Veer Singh Gill said that just like last time, this time too ASAP will contest the student union elections with full strength in Panjab University as well as in every college of Chandigarh.
