Alisha Explains Why She Removed Her Clothes During Viral Phillaur Incident
Phillaur (The Uttam Hindu): In the recently viral case from Phillaur, Alisha, the woman seen removing her clothes has shared the full reason behind the incident along with details about her personal life. Alisha says she transitioned her gender during childhood and has been living as a woman for many years. She also lived at a spiritual dera for a long time.
The Fight Started Over a Money Dispute
Alisha said the argument began when she asked her neighbour to return ₹30,000 she had earlier lent, as she needed the money for house painting. The dispute escalated, and according to her, the neighbours surrounded her mother in the street and insulted her.
“When I went to save my mother, one of the boys grabbed my top and pulled it off. That’s why, in anger, I removed the rest of my clothes myself,” she said.
She added, “I was wearing shorts at the time. I told them that if they pulled off my top, I wasn’t afraid to remove my other clothes myself.” Alisha claims that even after this, people in the street chased her and mocked her.
‘I Still Face Taunts About My Gender’
Alisha said she underwent gender transition at the age of 11 and later received spiritual initiation from Mahant Kajal at the dera.
“I always wanted to live as a girl. The dera helped me live the life I wished for,” she said.
However, she still faces taunts and many people continue calling her “boy” to insult her.
Left the Dera After Internal Dispute
Alisha said she lived at the dera until six months ago, but after her guru Kajal Mahant passed away, a dispute began over succession.
“My gurubhai took control of the dera, so I left and returned home,” she said. She now stays with her mother, which she believes creates jealousy among some neighbours.
‘Boys Misbehave, Ask Me Indecent Questions’
Alisha alleged that many boys in the area harass her, try to touch her inappropriately, and ask vulgar questions.
“They ask me things like ‘What’s your rate?’ I ignored it earlier because they were neighbourhood boys, but now I won’t tolerate it. Next time, I will file a police complaint,” she said.
‘Even After Removing My Clothes, They Humiliated Me’
Alisha said that during the fight, she was insulted even after removing her clothes. She was mocked as a “fake mahant,” and her sisters were also targeted with false accusations.
“I gave them money and still ended up in trouble. Now even asking for my money back is treated like a crime. They have no proof only false stories. I will file a case against them,” she added.
