Arvind Kejriwal Breaks Silence on CM Bhagwant Mann’s Health Status
Sultanpur Lodhi (The Uttam Hindu): Amid the devastating flood situation in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's health has suddenly deteriorated. He was visiting flood-affected areas day and night for the last several days, due to which he had to be put on drip today. This information was given by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who himself reached Sultanpur Lodhi today to take stock of the flood situation.
While giving an update on CM Mann's health, Arvind Kejriwal said, Mann sahab was also supposed to come with me today, but he was continuously roaming among the people without eating or drinking anything for three-four days. This morning his health deteriorated a lot. I myself have come after meeting him, he is on drip. I have requested him to rest for a day or two, but his mind is only focused on helping the people of Punjab.
After visiting the flood-affected areas, Kejriwal targeted the central government and appealed for help. He said, a huge disaster has befallen Punjab. Such a terrible flood has come after 37 years. I saw that when earthquake struck Afghanistan, the central government sent help. This is a good thing, help should be given if there is a crisis anywhere in the world. But today our own country's Punjab is in deep crisis, the center should rise above party politics and help Punjab wholeheartedly.
Kejriwal said that about 1400 villages in Punjab are in the grip of floods and about three lakh people have been directly affected. He said that the Punjab government, all our ministers, MLAs and workers are engaged in relief and rescue work with full dedication. A gazetted officer is being made the nodal officer for every village so that help can reach the people directly and quickly. He assured that the government is assessing the damage and every possible compensation will be given to the victims.
