Big success for Punjab Police: Babbar Khalsa terrorist Parminder Singh Pindi deported from UAE
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Police and central agencies have achieved a major success in securing the extradition of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Parminder Singh Pindi from the UAE. Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Saturday that Pindi is a close associate of foreign-based terrorists Harvinder Singh alias Rinda and Happy Pasia. He has been involved in several heinous crimes, including petrol bomb attacks, violent incidents, and extortion in the Batala-Gurdaspur area.
DGP Yadav said that a Red Corner Notice was issued on the request of the Batala police. Subsequently, a four-member team led by a senior police officer departed for the UAE on September 24, 2024. With the cooperation of the Ministry of External Affairs and UAE authorities, the legal formalities were completed and the accused was brought to India. This successful extradition exemplifies the Punjab Police's zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and organized crime and its global reach.
Meanwhile, Punjab Police are continuing their crackdown on other cases related to pro-Khalistan activities. Inderjit Singh Gosal, who was arrested last year in Canada for attacking a Hindu temple, has released a video in support of Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Pannu after being released on bail. Pannu recently threatened National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and, in a video message released from the United States, offered a reward of ₹11 crore to alleged "Sikh soldiers" for preventing Prime Minister Modi from hoisting the tricolor at the Red Fort. A case has been registered against him.
