BJP Deliberately Distorted Atishi’s Video to Hurt Sikh Sentiments: MP Kang

Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu) : Aam Aadmi Party MP from Punjab, Malvinder Singh Kang, leveled serious allegations against the BJP, stating that the party deliberately distorted a video of Delhi’s Leader of Opposition Atishi and, through it, intentionally tried to hurt Sikh sentiments. He said that the forensic report has also clearly established that the video was tampered with.

MP Malvinder Kang said that the forensic report has made it clear that the video was manipulated. He added that this has been BJP’s old history. “For the past several years, we have repeatedly seen that BJP has, time and again, insulted Sikh sentiments. He recalled that earlier too, the BJP had made cartoons of the Guru Sahibs,” Kang said.

The AAP MP said that Atishi had already issued a clarification stating that she had no such intention. “Her speech was cut, edited in different ways, and statements were taken out of context and stitched together,” he said.

Targeting BJP leader Kapil Mishra, Kang said that the video was made viral from his official social media handle, which reflects his mindset. He added that this is the reason action is now being taken against Kapil Mishra.

Malvinder Kang said that there is massive anger in Punjab over this issue and people are filing complaints against the BJP. He said that a complaint has also been registered in Jalandhar and the Jalandhar Police has initiated legal action.

AAP MP added, “First, for your cheap politics, you prepare and circulate a distorted video related to Sikh Guru Sahibs, and when legal action is taken, you start issuing threats.” He said that no one has the right to insult Guru Sahibs for their political interests and indulge in cheap vote-bank politics.

Kang also appealed to the Speaker of the Delhi Assembly to reconsider the matter and said that such shallow and disgraceful politics should not take place.
