Chandigarh Man Falls Prey to Online Trading Scam, Loses Rs 22 Lakh

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): A Chandigarh resident, Manish Malhotra, has been duped of Rs 22,34,607 in an online trading scam. The accused, Jyoti and her father Sanjeev Bhatnagar, approached him on Facebook, promising high profits. They convinced him to invest, initially Rs 5,000 and later lakhs, but blocked him after receiving the payments.

Investigation Underway

The police have registered an FIR under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) at Cyber Cell, Sector-17 Police Station, Chandigarh. The authorities are investigating the matter to track down the accused and recover the lost amount.
