Congress Leader and Independent Candidate Harpal Singh Joins Aam Aadmi Party in Tarn Taran, Extends Support to AAP Candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu

Tarn Taran (The Uttam Hindu): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today received a major political boost in Tarn Taran when Congress Party Block Samiti Member Harpal Singh, who had filed his nomination as an independent candidate, withdrew his nomination in favour of AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu. AAP’s Punjab President Aman Arora formally inducted him into the party.
Addressing a press conference here today, Aam Aadmi Party Punjab President Aman Arora said that good leaders are leaving other parties and joining the AAP family, inspired by the party’s pro-people policies and the effective work of its government. On this occasion, he was accompanied by Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Singh Barsat, Talbir Gill, MLA Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon (Gidderbaha), and MLA Devinder Singh Laddi Dhons, along with other senior leaders.
Expressing happiness, Aman Arora said, “I am pleased to share that Harpal Singh, a Block Samiti Member from the Congress Party who had filed his nomination as an independent candidate, has today withdrawn his nomination in support of our candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. The joining of Harpal Singh and his associates will further strengthen the Aam Aadmi Party and our candidate.”
On this occasion, Harpal Singh, who joined the Aam Aadmi Party, said that he was greatly impressed by the performance of AAP. He stated that the biggest issue in Tarn Taran city is the heaps of garbage, which have become a major cause of serious diseases like cancer. “Harmeet Sandhu has assured me that after his victory, the issue of sanitation in the city will be resolved on a priority basis,” he said.
He further added that apart from this, the Aam Aadmi Party is also working seriously to tackle the drug menace. “I have joined AAP because I am inspired by its policies and hopeful that the long-pending development work of Punjab will be completed under its leadership,” he said.
