Daylight shootout in Punjab: 4 Lawrence Bishnoi gang shooters arrested, 2 injured as police return fire

Mohali (The Uttam Hindu): A fierce encounter took place between the police and criminals in Punjab's Mohali district on Wednesday afternoon. In this shootout on the Derabassi-Ambala highway, the police achieved a major success and arrested four dangerous shooters of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The police had received secret information that some of the gang members were roaming around the area with the intention of carrying out a major crime. Based on this input, the police team laid a trap, but seeing themselves surrounded, the criminals started firing at the police.

According to reports, the incident occurred near Steel Strips Towers on the highway. During the police siege, the criminals opened fire in an attempt to escape, prompting police to return fire in self-defense. In the crossfire, two criminals were shot and injured. The injured were immediately admitted to the Derabassi Civil Hospital for treatment. Police arrested four gang members at the scene, who are said to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Along with the arrests, police also recovered a large quantity of illegal weapons and ammunition from the accused. Police officials say that the capture of these shooters has averted a major crime. Police are currently interrogating the accused to determine who their target was and where other gang members are hiding. Police will soon share details about this entire operation.
