Disproportionate Assets Case: Vigilance Uncovers Crucial Clues with Bikram Majithia in Himachal
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In the disproportionate assets case, the vigilance team has brought senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia to Mashobra area near Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. In this case, former Punjab DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyay, former PA Talbir Singh Gill and many businessmen considered close to Majithia have recorded their statements with the vigilance.
The vigilance team reached Mashobra area of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh with Majithia, where the properties were verified on the spot. Meanwhile, Bittu Aulakh and Jagjit Singh Chahal reached the vigilance headquarters in Mohali to record their statements in this case. Both of them gave their statements to the officials of the Vigilance Bureau for about two hours. Both of them have been accused of drug smuggling and being close to Majithia. Arjun Awardee dismissed DSP Jagdish Singh Bhola will also be questioned by the Vigilance in this case. While talking to the media, both of them said, "If we have done anything wrong, we should be made to stand at the crossroads and shot." They also demanded that former senior police officer Hardayal Singh Mann should also be questioned.
Information has come to light that apart from Mashobra, Vigilance also took Majithia to Baddi. Preparations are also being made by Vigilance officials to take the accused to UP. Vigilance claims that many important clues have been found from the statements of witnesses, for the verification of which Majithia has been taken to different places. Now, in this case, he will be produced in the court on 2 July.
