AAP Leader and Tarn Taran MLA Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal Passes Away
Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu): Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal, the sitting Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Tarn Taran Vidhan Sabha constituency, has passed away at the age of 66. He breathed his last in a private hospital in Amritsar after a long battle with Cancer.
Dr. Sohal, a physician by profession, was known for his compassionate approach, simplicity and dedication to public welfare. He transitioned into politics to serve the people of Punjab and was widely respected for his commitment to his constituency.
Electoral Success
In the 2022 Punjab Vidhan Sabha Elections, Dr. Sohal won the Tarn Taran seat, defeating Harmeet Singh Sandhu of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) by a margin of 13,237 votes. He secured 52,469 votes, while Sandhu received 39,232 votes.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed his heartfelt condolences on social media, praising Dr. Sohal's unwavering commitment to the Aam Aadmi Party and his sincere efforts towards the betterment of his constituency and the state.
Dr. Sohal's demise has left a void in Tarn Taran politics and Punjab's progressive leadership. His legacy of service and ability to connect with grassroots issues will be remembered fondly by his supporters and constituents
