Nabha, Punjab (The Uttam Hindu):  A tense confrontation broke out between farmers and police today in Nabha after Lady Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mandeep Kaur claimed to face physical aggression during a protest. According to the DSP, farmers pushed her, pulled at her uniform, and even tugged at her footwear. The farmers asserted that a police vehicle was driven toward them in an alleged attempt to harm protestors.

The incident reportedly began when farmers had gathered in the area to press various demands. Video clips circulating on social media show heated exchanges and scuffles between the farmers and the police force. Lady DSP Kaur can be seen raising her voice, stating that her uniform and shoes were pulled. Farmers alleged that tensions escalated when the vehicle of a police officer approached near the crowd in a suspected attempt to drive through them.

Authorities are investigating both sides’ claims. The police maintain that any use of force from their side was in response to what they claimed was aggressive behavior from the farmers. Meanwhile, farmer representatives demanded accountability, alleging misuse of official power and calling for a transparent inquiry into the events.
