Former congress MP Mohinder KP’s son dies in road accident in Jalandhar

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): Former MP and senior Akali leader Mohinder Singh KP's only son Richie KP (36) died in a horrific collision between four vehicles in Jalandhar, Punjab. The incident took place on Saturday late night. The driver of a speeding Creta car hit three vehicles near Mata Rani Chowk in Model Town, Jalandhar at around 1 AM. He fled after that. In the accident, former MP Mohinder Singh KP's son Richie KP who was travelling in a Fortuner car was seriously injured. He was admitted to Patel hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. Richie was the only brother of two sisters.

Along with the driver, a child and a woman were in the Creta car, who got injured. Richie had left home in the car to return the mobile to his friend when the accident happened on the way. KP is a relative of former CM Charanjit Channi. He has been the head of PPCC, MP, former CWC member and Punjab minister. He is currently in Akali Dal. He had left the party due to not getting a ticket from Congress.

Meanwhile, KP's relative Amrik Singh said that this accident happened due to an uncontrolled Creta car. The Grand Vitara car and Richie's Fortuner car were coming face to face. During this, the Creta car suddenly came out of the street and first hit the Grand Vitara car and then collided directly with the Fortuner car. The police have taken the damaged vehicles into custody and started investigation.
