Good News for Punjabis: Cashless Treatment up to ₹10 Lakh, Registration Begins
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The Punjab government has made a major announcement regarding public health, offering cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced that registration for the health card scheme will begin on September 23rd.
Chief Minister Mann stated that the registration process will be completed within 10 to 15 days, after which the scheme will be implemented across Punjab. Under the scheme, each family will be provided with a health card, which will enable them to access cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh per year. The program will begin in Tarn Taran and Barnala districts, where 128 registration camps will be set up in each district. Residents will be required to bring their Aadhaar card, voter ID card, and a passport-size photo to register.
– This card will cover treatment of major operations, surgeries and serious diseases.
– Both government and private hospitals will be included in the scheme.
– In case of non-registration, one can avail these facilities by just showing Aadhar or Voter ID.
– A list of recognized hospitals will also be released.
– Major operations, surgeries and serious treatments will also be free.
– Cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh will be available every year.
– The number of Aam Aadmi Clinics will be increased.
