Gurdaspur Shock: Jail Guard Uses AK-47 to Kill Wife, Mother-in-Law, Then Ends Life
Gurdaspur (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has been reported from Gurdaspur, Punjab, where a jail guard shot and killed his wife and mother-in-law using an AK-47 rifle before taking his own life. After committing the murders, the accused fled to a government residential quarter, where he later shot himself when the police arrived.
According to information, the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute. The accused has been identified as Gurpreet, a guard at the Central Jail in Gurdaspur. He reportedly reached home with his official AK-47 rifle and opened fire on his wife, Akvinder Kaur, and mother-in-law, Gurjit Kaur, around 3 a.m. Both women died on the spot. After the killings, Gurpreet escaped and hid inside a government quarter located in Gurdaspur’s Scheme Number 7.
Family members revealed that Gurpreet and his wife had been facing long-standing marital issues. His sister-in-law, Paraminder Kaur, stated that frequent arguments had been happening since their marriage in 2016, and ongoing domestic tension is believed to be the primary cause behind the tragic incident.
