Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and National Media Incharge Anurag Dhanda issued a statement on Wednesday, sharply attacking the Haryana BJP government and Chief Minister Nayab Saini, saying, "Haryana has become the drug capital, and Chief Minister Nayab Saini is busy maintaining silence and saving his position."

Anurag Dhanda He said that the drug-related deaths of four people in Sirsa in the past few days have shocked the entire state, but the government and police have lost all compassion. This drug menace in the state is not new. Only a few arrests have been made in the past year, while drug traffickers are openly selling drugs. Districts like Sirsa, Hisar, Kaithal, Fatehabad, Ambala, and Kurukshetra have become drug hubs. The BJP government is solely engaged in transfer politics. He said, "The mother who lost her son is crying and saying that she herself told the police the names of the drug dealers, but the Sirsa police took no action. Chief Minister Nayab Saini, what good is your rule when a mother doesn't get justice? After the continuous deaths from drugs in Sirsa, everyone from the SHO to the SP has been replaced, but the situation remains the same." “Faces are being changed, but the system remains rotten.”

Anurag Dhanda pointed out that Chief Minister Nayab Singh has reduced the state's anti-drug campaign to a mere gimmick, and deaths continue, while the government remains a mute spectator. Only a handful of arrests have been made in the past year, while the drug trade flourishes in broad daylight. Drugs have now reached every household, and the police administration is turning a blind eye at the behest of BJP leaders. “Haryana's youth are drowning in drugs, mothers are losing their sons, and the Chief Minister is claiming the situation is under control—this is a lie, this is a deception!”

Dhanda said that the BJP government has turned Haryana into a “drug hell.” Sixteen districts are severely affected, with Sirsa leading the charge, with over 7,000 cases registered. He said, "Drugs are now being sold like candy—openly, under the nose of the police, under the patronage of politicians. This is not a failure, but a collusion." He added that under BJP rule, the nexus between police and smugglers has grown into an organized network. "Chief Minister Nayab Singh, you are losing the youth of Haryana and yet you are clinging to power. This government has become a shield for criminals, not a government."

The Aam Aadmi Party demanded that a special task force be immediately formed in the state, strict checking be conducted throughout the state, and free de-addiction centers be opened in every affected district. Police recruitment be doubled, and the names of smugglers be made public and a CBI investigation be conducted.

Dhanda said that the rule of the BJP and Nayab Saini has become a curse for Haryana. "The bodies of Haryana's youth bear witness that this government is a partner in the drug trade. The public will no longer remain silent. The Aam Aadmi Party will now wage a decisive battle against drugs and achieve a 'drug-free Haryana.'"
