Deadly Accident in Jalandhar: Pickup Truck Overturns, Tiles Fall on Passengers — 3 Crushed to Death
Jalandhar(The Uttam Hindu): A horrifying road accident occurred this morning near Shahnai Resort on the Phillaur highway, where a pickup truck loaded with marble and tiles overturned, killing three people and injuring three others.
According to the road safety force, the pickup was carrying six passengers — some seated in the cabin, others on the roof. Around 8:15 AM, the truck lost balance at high speed and overturned. The laborers sitting on top were thrown off, and heavy marble slabs and tiles fell directly on them.
Two people died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries later at the hospital. The remaining three were critically injured and rushed for medical treatment — two by the road safety team and one via an emergency ambulance service. Police from Phillaur station have begun an investigation. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
