Journalist Family Contributes ₹5 Lakh to Punjab CM Relief Fund for Flood Victims

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): Prominent journalist and industrialist Arvind Chopra, along with journalist and social activist Seema Chopra, handed over a cheque of ₹5 lakh to Punjab Cabinet Minister Shri Mohinder Bhagat on behalf of the family of late Shri Romesh Chander, the popular politician and journalist from the Punjab Kesari Group.


The contribution has been made towards the Chief Minister Punjab’s Relief Fund, supporting the state government’s ongoing efforts for flood relief, rehabilitation and resettlement of affected families, especially farmers who have suffered the most in recent calamities.


While presenting the draft, the Chopra family emphasized that the gesture is a tribute to the legacy of Shri Romesh Chander ji, reflecting his lifelong commitment to the welfare of society and humanitarian causes.


Minister Mohinder Bhagat expressed gratitude to the family and the Punjab Kesari Group for their timely support, stating that such contributions from social and media leaders provide strength to the government’s mission to restore normalcy in flood-hit regions.
