Ludhiana terror plot foiled: 3 ISI agents arrested with hand grenades, 2 accomplices on the run

Ludhiana (The Uttam Hindu): The Commissionerate Police has foiled a major terrorist plot being hatched in Pakistan to intimidate Punjab. Taking action, police arrested three agents with links to Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, while two of their associates managed to escape by eluding police.

Police have recovered hand grenades and other weapons from the arrested suspects. However, the exact number of weapons and hand grenades recovered has not yet been disclosed.

The arrested accused have been identified as Kuldeep Singh, Ramnik Singh alias Amrik, resident of village Ramgarh Jhungga, Sri Muktsar Sahib and Parvinder Singh alias Chidi, resident of village Panni Wala.

The absconding accused have been identified as Shekhar Singh, a resident of Ramgarh Jhunga village, and Ajay, a resident of Badhaiyan. Several teams of the Commissionerate Police are conducting raids in search of them, and all borders have been sealed.

According to the police complaint, on Monday, a police party led by SI Dalbir Singh was patrolling near the water tank on Noorwala Road. Police received a tip-off that the accused were in contact with the ISI and working for them. The information stated that the accused were currently in Ludhiana and were plotting to terrorize the city by carrying out bombings.

Upon receiving the information, the police team was alerted. They laid a trap and apprehended the accused as they were approaching Shivpuri Chowk from the vegetable market, but two of their accomplices took advantage of the darkness and escaped.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused were in contact with agents of Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI. It is reported that the Punjab Police had been on high alert since the arrest of several terrorists with hand grenades two days ago. The accused had brought the consignment of hand grenades and weapons from the Amritsar border area. They had planned to carry out the blast after receiving orders from their handlers in Ludhiana, but were apprehended before they could do so.

Senior officers of the Commissionerate Police are continuously interrogating the three arrested accused. According to sources, the accused have revealed a wealth of information that has surprised the police. It is being reported that the two absconding accused are key players in this conspiracy. Multiple police teams are conducting raids to arrest them, and police in surrounding districts have also been alerted. Senior police officials may soon hold a press conference to provide detailed information about the entire case.
