Major setback for Congress as former Sarpanch Nirwail Singh joins AAP along with his family
Tarn Taran (The Uttam Hindu): The election campaign of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the Tarn Taran Assembly by-election received a significant boost today when senior Congress leader and former Sarpanch of village Cheema Khurd, Nirwail Singh, joined AAP along with his son Amritpal Singh.
AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu personally facilitated the joining of Nirwail Singh and his son into the party and extended them a warm welcome. Harmeet Sandhu said that the induction of senior leaders like Nirwail Singh would further strengthen the party at the grassroots level. He added that people are now leaving Congress and joining the Aam Aadmi Party as they are fed up with the anti-people policies of the Congress.
On this occasion, Harmeet Singh Sandhu expressed his gratitude to the people of Tarn Taran and said that the faith being shown by the public to ensure AAP’s victory is deeply appreciated. He added that this growing support clearly shows that people are happy with the pro-people work being carried out by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s government and will ensure a resounding victory for AAP in the upcoming by-election.
