Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Marking the 118th birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh with a spirit of service and sacrifice, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Youth Club and Punjab Youth Development Board organized a mega blood donation drive across the state, collecting an impressive 4,470 units of blood in a single day. This remarkable initiative reflects the party’s commitment to public welfare and youth empowerment under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal.

The drive was carried out in every district and constituency of Punjab, with 4,470 units donated, Malwa Central: 1,555 units, Malwa East: 1,002 units, Malwa West: 635 units, Doaba: 628 units and Majha: 650 units.

Lauding the initiative, AAP Punjab Working President Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi said, “This is not just a campaign, it is a movement led by the youth of Punjab. At a time when floods devastated villages, destroyed crops, and displaced families, our Youth Club stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the people, delivering ration, setting up medical camps, and now organizing this massive blood donation drive. On Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary, our youth have shown that Punjab’s spirit of sacrifice and service is alive and strong. I thank each and every volunteer who made this possible.”

Echoing this sentiment, Punjab Youth Board Chairman Parminder Singh Goldy highlighted the dedication of young volunteers across the state. “From Malwa to Majha, from Doaba to every corner of Punjab, our youth turned this campaign into a historic success. Over 70% of the camps were organized in government civil hospitals, ensuring proper medical facilities. The response was overwhelming, thousands of youngsters came forward not only to donate blood but also to pledge to stay away from drugs and work towards a healthier, progressive Punjab. This is the new energy that AAP Youth Club is bringing among people," he said.

Both leaders said that the youth of Punjab, guided by the vision of CM Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal, are determined to build a “Rangla Punjab” - free from drugs, rich in sports and culture, and strong in community service.

The AAP Punjab leadership extended heartfelt gratitude to every volunteer, doctor, and organizer who contributed to this initiative, promising that such welfare campaigns will continue in the future, making Punjab a model of youth-driven progress and compassion.
