Medical store owner shot dead while opening shop in Dera Baba Nanak; gangster Jeevan Fauji claims responsibility

Dera Baba Nanak (The Uttam Hindu): A medical store owner was brutally murdered after being shot in the head in Dera Baba Nanak on Wednesday morning. The firing incident took place when the victim was opening his shop, causing panic in the area. The responsibility for the killing has reportedly been claimed by gangster Jeevan Fauji.

Attack occurred while opening the shop

According to initial information, the medical store owner had just reached his shop and was opening the shutters when unidentified assailants opened fire at close range. The bullet hit him in the head, leaving him critically injured. He collapsed on the spot, and local residents immediately informed the police.

Victim died on the spot

Police officials said the victim died on the spot due to the severe head injury. After receiving information, police teams rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area. Forensic experts were also called to collect evidence from the spot, including empty cartridges.

Gangster claims responsibility

Soon after the incident, gangster Jeevan Fauji allegedly claimed responsibility for the murder through social media. Police are verifying the claim and investigating possible links related to rivalry or extortion. Officials said all angles are being examined.
