Migrant workers targeted in Punjab shooting: Outsiders 'spoiling atmosphere' claim
Moga (The Uttam Hindu): A serious incident has emerged in Punjab's Moga district, challenging law and order. Three bike-borne miscreants opened fire on migrant laborers in the Jeera Road area, injuring two. The injured have been identified as Ashok Kumar and Subodh.
According to reports, the two laborers were returning home after lunch when assailants on a motorcycle suddenly opened fire. Ashok Kumar was shot in the knee, while Subodh was shot in the leg. Both were immediately admitted to the government hospital in Moga, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, a video claiming responsibility for the attack is going viral on social media. In the video, youths named Ladi Bhalwan and Nirveer Singh claim responsibility for the firing. The video also makes offensive and inflammatory statements about migrant workers from other states in Punjab.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police arrived at the scene and began an investigation. Police officials say the accused have been identified and raids are underway to arrest them. A forensic examination of the viral video on social media is also underway to determine its authenticity and background. This incident has once again raised questions about the safety of migrant workers in the state. Police have appealed to the public to maintain peace and ignore any rumors.
