New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): Hon’ble Member of Parliament Shri Malvinder Singh Kang today raised an important public issue in the Lok Sabha under Rule 377, seeking urgent Central Government assistance for the integrated development of Shri Charan Chhoh Ganga Sachkhand, Khuralgarh Sahib, located in Garhshankar tehsil of Hoshiarpur district, Punjab.

Shri Charan Chhoh Ganga Sachkhand holds immense religious, historical, and cultural significance for the Ravidasia community and is closely associated with the life and spiritual legacy of Guru Ravidas Ji. The sacred site attracts a large number of pilgrims annually from Punjab and various parts of the country, particularly during major religious congregations.

Despite its national importance and growing footfall, the Hon’ble MP highlighted that the site has not received integrated heritage development planning or adequate Central financial assistance under existing pilgrimage and heritage development schemes. This gap not only affects pilgrims but also restricts local livelihoods and limits the promotion of inclusive cultural tourism in the region.

Urging the Government to take timely action, Shri Kang called for Central assistance in coordination with the Punjab Government for infrastructure augmentation, heritage preservation, and overall development of the site under appropriate Central schemes such as PRASHAD or Swadesh Darshan, in the larger public interest.

“The spiritual heritage of Guru Ravidas Ji belongs to the entire nation. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that places of such profound reverence are developed with dignity, safety, and inclusiveness,” the Hon’ble MP emphasized.

The matter raised under Rule 377 reflects a strong commitment to preserving religious heritage, improving pilgrim facilities, and ensuring balanced regional development.
