PAP flyover modification expedited with efforts of Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat, Nitin Kohli and DC Himanshu Aggarwal
Jalandhar(The Uttam Hindu): A significant breakthrough was achieved today regarding the long-pending PAP Flyover modification issue, which has been one of the biggest demands of the people of Jalandhar for many years. A key meeting was held involving Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat, Jalandhar DC Himanshu Aggarwal (IAS) and Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli along with officers of the National Highways Authority. The discussion focused on creating a smoother and more commuter-friendly route for people travelling from Jalandhar to Amritsar through the PAP junction. During the meeting, the DC informed that the required NOC from the state government is in its final stage and is expected within a day or two. Once received, it will be forwarded immediately to the authority to ensure there is no delay.
Officials stated that the work will commence without any further wait as soon as the NOC reaches them. For years, thousands of commuters have been forced to take a lengthy detour via Rama Mandi Chowk due to the current PAP flyover structure, causing daily inconvenience, loss of time and additional fuel expense. Addressing this issue has been a consistent public demand, and its resolution will provide major relief to residents as well as daily travellers on the Jalandhar–Amritsar route.
Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli has been regularly following up on the matter with the DC, ensuring the issue remained active and moving. At the same time, Jalandhar DC Himanshu Aggarwal has been in constant communication with the highway authority for several months. Their combined efforts, along with the involvement of Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat, have brought the long-pending matter to the brink of a final solution.
Once the modification work begins, it is expected to significantly ease traffic movement and fulfil one of the most pressing demands of the people of Jalandhar.
