Pro-Farmer Policy of Mann Government Benefits Over 10 Lakh Farmers with Timely MSP Payments: Mohinder Singh Sidhu
Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Kisan Wing President Mohinder Singh Sidhu said in a statement issued here today that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has set new records during the ongoing paddy procurement season. He stated that due to the government’s dedicated efforts, more than 10 lakh farmers have already received the direct benefit of Minimum Support Price (MSP), reflecting the government’s strong commitment to the welfare of farmers.
Sharing details, Mohinder Singh Sidhu said that as per data till November 5, a total of 10,11,149 farmers have received the benefit of government procurement of their crops at MSP. Sidhu added that under the supervision of Food and Civil Supplies Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk, the work of procurement, lifting, and payment in mandis is being carried out with full efficiency to ensure that farmers face no inconvenience.
The AAP leader further informed that by the evening of November 5, a total of 1,38,69,759.05 metric tonnes of paddy had arrived in mandis across the state, out of which 1,35,97,879.27 metric tonnes have already been purchased. He expressed satisfaction that 98 percent of the total crop that arrived in mandis has been procured, and 86 percent of it has already been lifted. Mohinder Singh Sidhu said that the Aam Aadmi Party government is the true well-wisher of farmers and will continue to work tirelessly for their welfare in the future as well.
