Punjab Promotes 8 IPS Officers to DGP Rank — Senior Officers Get Top Police Post

Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): In a major administrative development, the Punjab government on Monday promoted eight senior IPS officers to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP), which corresponds to Level-16 in the Pay Matrix, with immediate effect.
The officers elevated to the state’s highest police rank include: Dr. Naresh Kumar, Sudhanshu Shekhar Srivastava, Ram Singh, Praveen Kumar Sinha, Chandra Sekhar, Amardeep Singh Rai, Neeraja Voruvuru, and Anita Punj.
These promotions come as part of a broader reshuffle and recognition of seniority and service within the Punjab Police, and are expected to strengthen leadership across key law enforcement sectors in the state.
