Punjab Police Bust ISI-Backed Babbar Khalsa International Network, Five Held
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): In a major breakthrough against cross-border terrorism, Punjab Police on Tuesday announced the busting of a Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)-backed Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) network with the arrest of five operatives from Rajasthan.
According to police, one of the arrested accused sustained injuries during an exchange of fire while being taken for recovery.
Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav revealed that the terror module had recently planned an attack on a liquor store in SBS Nagar. The group was also tasked with executing further strikes on the occasion of Independence Day. The arrests mark a significant step in Punjab Police’s ongoing crackdown on terrorist networks operating with support from across the border.
