Punjab's Mann Government Providing Free Electricity to Over 2.11 Lakh Households in Tarn Taran-Sanjeev Arora

Tarn Taran (The Uttam Hindu): Ahead of the upcoming by-elections in Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency, the Aam Aadmi Party has once again sounded the trumpet of its ‘politics of work’. Punjab's Power Minister Sanjeev Arora, while campaigning in support of AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu, released some data today that has shaken the opposition parties. The Minister claimed that under the AAP government’s biggest guarantee, 300 units of free electricity per month, 82 percent of Tarn Taran’s domestic consumers are now receiving ‘zero bills’.

Addressing the media, Minister Arora said that this historic achievement was made possible only because of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s honest intent and commitment. He informed that, as per the directives of the Punjab government, domestic consumers in the border district of Tarn Taran continue to receive 300 units of free power per month.

The Minister said that the data from the domestic electricity bills issued for May and June 2025 clearly shows that 2,11,552 consumers have received ‘zero bills’. This figure represents 82 percent of all domestic consumers in Tarn Taran. “Unlike the opposition parties that make false claims, we made a ‘guarantee’, and today, that guarantee is bringing prosperity to every household in Tarn Taran,” he asserted.

He said that this major relief is helping poor and middle-class families save thousands of rupees, allowing them to spend more on their children’s education and household needs. He stated clearly that this is a symbol of the AAP government’s honest and corruption-free governance.

‘Zero Bill’ is AAP’s Guarantee, Only Possible in AAP Govt, Remember It When You Vote: Arora

Cabinet Minister Arora, referring to himself as a ‘soldier of AAP,’ made a direct appeal to the people of Tarn Taran. He said, “When you go to vote, remember the zero electricity bill. This is AAP’s guarantee, only possible in the AAP Government. This is the prosperity that has reached your homes.”

Launching a strong attack on the previous governments, he asked, “Did any of the earlier governments ever give such financial relief to common people?” He alleged that those governments only filled their own coffers and those of their favorites, instead of working for the people.

Harmeet Sandhu: The Face of the Development Model

Arora described AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu not just as a contestant, but as the face of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s development model in Tarn Taran. He said that Sandhu is a grassroots leader, and his victory will accelerate development in every village and every home of the region.

The Minister especially appealed to the 82 percent families who received zero bills to vote for the ‘politics of work’. He said that it is time to give a fitting response to the critics who claimed that the AAP government would not be able to deliver. Arora stated, “By voting for Sandhu, you will strengthen the hands of the Mann government and ensure that the wave of development never stops. Vote for Harmeet Singh Sandhu.”

Sanjeev Arora also issued a strong and direct warning to opposition parties, asking them to stop their false propaganda and mudslinging. He said that the people of Tarn Taran are wise and aware, and they clearly stand with AAP and Harmeet Singh Sandhu in this battle of ‘development versus corruption.’

Based on the overwhelming public support, the Minister confidently asserted that Harmeet Singh Sandhu’s victory in the upcoming by-election will be historic.
