SGPC needs to cooperate with Punjab government in taking action against culprits instead of doing politics of missing 328 Saroops: Kultar Singh Sandhwan
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): In a bid to make the Sikh community aware of missing 328 sacred Saroops of Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan today appealed to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to provide full cooperation to the Punjab government in taking action against the culprits instead of doing politics in this matter.
Speaker Sandhwan said that when the incident of the scattering of One sacred Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in the streets had shaken the Sikh community across the globe, then why is SGPC vehemently opposing the legal action being taken on the issue of 328 Saroops.
He clarified that politics should not be done on the issues related to Guru Sahib, but the constitutional power will be invoked to punish the traitors of Guru Sahib Ji.
The Speaker alleged that the SGPC is misusing various Guru's Ghars Golak and misleading the Sangat regarding the FIR registered by the Punjab government on the issue of 328 Saroops and the government is interfering in Sikh religious matters. He said that the SGPC should clarify their stance where the 328 holy Saroops went.
Sandhwan raised questions on whose orders attacks were made on Sangats by the Task Force, who were demanding action on the issue of missing Saroops. He added that who did not want to end this protest by giving satisfactory anwer.
He said that the SGPC failed to fulfill its due responsibility, the Punjab government had taken strict action considering the sentiments of the Sikh community due to SGPC failure. He said that the Sikh community is praising the government's action, but the Shiromani Committee is misusing the Guru's Ghar Golak to protect the guilty.
