Shock in Nabha Kalan as 169 saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji found, records missing for 139

 Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu): The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Wednesday conducted an investigation at Rasokhana Raja Sahib Nabha Kalan, located in village Mazara Nau Abad, near Banga, in connection with case number 168 (dated December 17, 2025) registered at Police Station C Division, Amritsar. The case has been registered under sections 295, 295-A, 409, 465, and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.


The SIT team arrived at the scene and examined the sacred Guru Granth Sahib images according to religious decorum. Ardaas was first offered in the presence of members of the Managing Committee and Granthi Singhs, followed by counting and examining the sacred images according to religious decorum.


The investigation revealed that a total of 169 sacred images were present in the kitchen complex. Of these, 30 were found to have been previously provided to the respective Gurdwaras by the SGPC as per demand. Of these, 10 were issued in the name of Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Satvi, village Dusanjh Khurd (District SBS Nagar), and 20 were issued in the name of Gurdwara Sahib Mazara Nau Abad, village.


The investigation also revealed that instead of being installed in the respective Gurudwaras, these holy images were kept in Rasokhana Raja Sahib Nabha Kalan.


Meanwhile, the Managing Committee of Rasokhana Raja Sahib Nabha Kalan was found to have no records regarding the remaining 139 sacred images. Statements from the Managing Committee members have also been recorded in this regard. According to SIT officials, a thorough investigation is underway and further action will be taken after a detailed examination of all the facts.
