Special Session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha at Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 24 in Tribute to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Martyrdom

Tarn Taran(The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Tarn Taran Assembly constituency Harmeet Singh Sandhu today issued an appeal to the entire Sangat to wholeheartedly participate in the grand events being organized to commemorate the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

Sandhu informed that the AAP government of Punjab is fully prepared to commemorate this historic occasion with complete devotion, reverence, and dignity. The series of events will commence with an Ardas (prayer) at the historic Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib in New Delhi on October 25.

Providing further details, Harmeet Singh Sandhu said that on October 25, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, along with all Cabinet Ministers and other senior officials, will pay obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib. In addition, Chief Minister Mann will also offer tributes at the martyrdom sites of Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Diala Ji. In the evening of October 25, a grand Kirtan Darbar will be organized at Gurdwara Sri Rakab Ganj Sahib.

Sandhu stated that these commemorative programs will not be confined to a few days but will continue throughout the month. Through these events, the life, teachings, and philosophy of Guru Sahib will be shared with the Sangat across India and abroad. As part of this series, special Light and Sound Shows will be organized in all districts of Punjab from November 1 to November 18, depicting the life and supreme sacrifice of Guru Sahib. Additionally, three Nagar Kirtans, including ones from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Faridkot, and Gurdaspur, will culminate at Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22.

The main events will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25. On November 24, a special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha will be convened at Sri Anandpur Sahib, where distinguished personalities will express their thoughts on the life and sacrifice of Guru Sahib. The commemorations will conclude on November 25 with statewide blood donation camps and the launch of a tree plantation drive dedicated to environmental conservation.

Harmeet Singh Sandhu mentioned that the Punjab government has sought blessings and guidance from the respected saints and spiritual leaders to ensure that this historic occasion is commemorated with the highest devotion. Invitations are being extended to the President of India, the Prime Minister, Chief Ministers of various states, and foreign ambassadors to attend the events.

He humbly appealed to the Sangat across India and abroad to participate enthusiastically in these commemorations and said that the AAP government is committed to the principles of Guru Sahib and dedicated to working for the welfare of all (Sarbat da Bhala).
