Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Sunil Jakhar's health suddenly deteriorated, leading to his admission to Fortis Hospital in Mohali. Jakhar missed a scheduled meeting with Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria on Sunday due to his ill health.
The delegation was to meet under the leadership of Jakhar
According to the schedule, a high-level BJP delegation led by Sunil Jakhar was scheduled to meet with the Governor on Sunday. However, Jakhar was unable to join the delegation due to a last-minute illness. Punjab BJP Vice President Subhash Sharma confirmed that the state president was feeling unwell and had gone to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the party's acting president, Ashwani Sharma, was attending a rally in Malerkotla and therefore could not attend the meeting.
Complaint to the Governor on law and order
In Jakhar's absence, the party's senior leadership, led by Vice President Subhash Sharma, met with Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. The delegation expressed deep concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. BJP leaders told the Governor that Punjab is now becoming a haven for gangsters. The delegation demanded that the state's Director General of Police (DGP) and Home Minister be summoned to answer questions on this serious issue and that strict action be taken to improve the situation.
