Swift car falls into canal on Malout-Fazilka road, case registered against husband in mother-daughter death case
Fazilka(The Uttam Hindu): A major revelation has emerged in the case of a two-year-old girl and her mother drowning after their Swift car fell into a canal on the Malout-Fazilka road. Initially, the incident was considered a road accident, but the deceased woman's family has alleged it was a pre-planned murder and leveled serious accusations against their son-in-law.
The deceased Simarjeet Kaur's father, Barjinder Singh son of Harbans Singh, a resident of Khairpur Sirsa (Haryana), stated in his police statement that his daughter Simarjeet Kaur was married about nine years ago to Sahilpreet Singh Khera son of Vinod Khera, a resident of Jandwala Bhime Shah village, Fazilka district. After the marriage, Simarjeet Kaur had two children—an elder son, Taranpreet Singh (8 years old), and a younger daughter, Takdeer Kaur (2 years old).
Barjinder Singh alleged that Sahilpreet Singh often quarreled with his daughter and threatened to kill her and remarry. He stated that the accused had also threatened to throw Simarjeet Kaur into the canal several times. About two months ago, a panchayat (village council) was held in Jandwala Bhime Shah village regarding this matter, where Sahilpreet Singh promised not to repeat such behavior.
According to the complainant, on January 11, Sahilpreet Singh came to Sirsa in his private Swift car. At that time, Simarjeet Kaur was visiting her parents' home with her two-year-old daughter Takdeer Kaur. The family asked him to stay the night, but Sahilpreet Singh insisted on taking his wife and daughter with him that same day.
It is alleged that Sahilpreet Singh forcibly made Simarjeet Kaur and Takdeer Kaur sit in the car and left Sirsa around 6 PM. Near the canal bridge in Alamwala village on the Malout-Fazilka road, he allegedly turned the car to the right and drove it straight into the canal. It is reported that the accused somehow managed to get out of the car, while Simarjit Kaur and her young daughter, who were also in the car, drowned in the water.
After the incident, passersby pulled both of them out of the canal and took them to the Civil Hospital in Malout, where doctors declared Simarjit Kaur dead. The young girl, Takdeer Kaur, was referred to Bathinda in a critical condition, but she also died on the way. The bodies of both mother and daughter have been kept in the mortuary of the Civil Hospital in Malout.
Barjinder Singh alleges that Sahilpreet Singh was fully aware that Simarjit Kaur and Takdeer Kaur would not be able to get out of the car after it fell into the canal and that they would die. Therefore, this incident was not an accident, but a premeditated murder.
In this case, the Kabarwala police station has registered a case against Sahilpreet Singh Khera based on the statements of the deceased's father, Barjinder Singh, and has started an investigation.
