Faridabad, Haryana(The Uttam Hindu) : The historic 'Guru Charan Yatra' (Nagar Kirtan) received a major show of reverence in Haryana today. Union Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, whose family recently transferred the sacred relics, was prominently present alongside Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini as the Yatra resumed its journey from the NIT Gurdwara in Faridabad.

The Guru Charan Yatra is transporting the revered 'Jore Sahib'—the holy footwear of Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur. These relics were under the custodianship of the Puri family for nearly 300 years until their formal handover to the Sikh community in Delhi, where the Yatra commenced. Minister Puri's commitment to this spiritual journey was highlighted by his continuous presence.

After having inaugurated the Yatra in Delhi, he ensured the sacred relics were welcomed in Faridabad yesterday for their overnight rest (Ratri Vishram). This morning, Mr. Puri returned to participate in the early morning Ardaas (prayer) before the procession moved forward. The morning ceremonies were graced by the joint attendance of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The presence of both leaders at the Gurdwara underscored the immense historical and spiritual significance of the event.

Addressing the assembled devotees, CM Saini delivered a moving speech, highlighting the city's fortune:

“Today, the industrial city has been blessed. We have received the profound fortune of having the darshan of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Jora Sahib, and the dust of the Guru's feet has touched this land.” The Chief Minister spoke fervently about the courage and sacrifice of the Guru, saying: “All Indians are proud of the sacrifice and valor of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He fought against the cruel Mughals and sacrificed his entire family, including the four Sahibzadas. Such an example is unparalleled in the world.”

The Yatra is progressing smoothly towards its destination, Takht Sri Patna Sahib in Bihar, the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh. Upon arrival, the sacred relics will be permanently enshrined for devotees to perform darshan and pay their respects.
