Vigilance crackdown: Liquor trader linked to Bikram Majithia held

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The troubles of Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who is in jail on charges of disproportionate assets and corruption, appear to be worsening. According to sources, the vigilance team arrested prominent liquor baron Harpreet Singh Gulati last night.

Sources say that during the investigation, records revealed transactions totaling approximately ₹10 crore between Harpreet Singh Gulati and Bikram Singh Majithia. It has also been reported that the Vigilance Department is investigating whether Majithia invested this money in purchasing properties in Delhi and Shimla. According to sources, investigating agencies may also interrogate Majithia and Harpreet Gulati face to face.
