Andhra Premier League 2025: Hanuma Vihari played Captaincy Innings, Amravati Royals in the Final

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Amaravati Royals have made it to the final of Andhra Premier League 2025. This team won by eight wickets against Tungabhadra Warriors on Thursday. In the match played in Visakhapatnam, Tungabhadra Warriors, who came to bat after losing the toss, could score only 136 runs by losing eight wickets in the stipulated overs.

As openers, CR Gyaneshwar and Prashant Kumar added 21 runs for the first wicket. Prashant was dismissed after scoring just 7 runs in 15 balls, after which Gyaneshwar (21) also departed soon after. The team had lost six wickets for 60 runs. From here, captain Maheep Kumar along with KV Shashikant took charge of the Warriors by scoring 71 runs for the seventh wicket.

Maheep returned to the pavilion after scoring 56 runs in 44 balls. His innings included two sixes and as many fours, while Shashikant scored 41 runs in 28 balls. Captain Hanuma Vihari took the maximum three wickets from the opposition camp, while Vinay Kumar got two wickets. In reply, Amravati Royals won in just 14.2 overs. The opening pair gave this team a great start. Captain Hanuma Vihari added 51 runs in just five overs with Praneet. Praneet was out after scoring 32 runs in 18 balls. His innings included one six and five fours.

From here, Hanuma Vihari shared a 59-run partnership for the second wicket with Venkat Rahul to take the team to the threshold of victory. Venkat Rahul scored 44 runs in 30 balls, while Hanuma Vihari remained unbeaten on 54 runs in 34 balls with the help of two sixes and five fours.

For the opposition team, Cheepurupalli Stephen and Chennu Siddharth took one wicket each. Hanuma Vihari was chosen as the 'Player of the Match'. After this defeat, the Tungabhadra Warriors team will now face Bhimavaram Bulls in Qualifier-2 on August 22. The team that wins the match will face Amravati Royals in the title match on August 23.
