New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Pakistan's Home Minister and ACC President Mohsin Naqvi, who fled to his hotel with the trophy after India's crushing defeat in the Asia Cup 2025 final, is now insisting on a new condition. Despite winning the final, the Indian team refused to accept the trophy from Naqvi, after which he kept the trophy in his possession.

What is Naqvi's condition now?

According to reports, Naqvi is willing to return the trophy and medals to India, but he has stipulated that a formal ceremony be held in which he personally hands over the trophy and medals to the Indian players. Naqvi is currently staying in a hotel in Dubai and is in possession of the Asia Cup trophy. The BCCI is trying to bring the trophy back to India through other cricket boards. The Indian board says that the trophy is not Naqvi's personal property, but belongs to the ACC, and therefore he cannot keep it.

The BCCI has made it clear that if Naqvi had attempted to forcibly present the trophy, a formal protest would have been lodged. Now, the Indian board has warned him to deliver the trophy to the ACC headquarters in Dubai as soon as possible so it can be shipped to India.
