Only three teams dominate IPL titles, see season-wise winners list

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Indian Premier League has completed 18 seasons so far, and out of these, 13 titles have been won by just three teams. Here is a complete look at all IPL champions season by season.

Chennai super kings (5 titles)

Chennai Super Kings reached the final in the very first season but lost to Rajasthan Royals. They later won titles in 2010 and 2011.

They reached finals again in 2012, 2013, and 2015 but fell short. In 2018, they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad to win their third title. After losing the 2019 final to Mumbai Indians, they bounced back to win again in 2021 and 2023.

Mumbai indians (5 titles)

Mumbai Indians reached the 2010 final but lost. They won their first title in 2013 by defeating Chennai Super Kings.

They repeated success in 2015, again beating CSK. Later, they won in 2017 (against Rising Pune Supergiant) and followed it with back-to-back titles in 2019 and 2020.

Kolkata knight riders (3 titles)

Kolkata Knight Riders won titles in 2012 and 2014 under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir.

They lost the 2021 final to Chennai Super Kings. In 2024, with Gambhir as mentor, they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad to claim their third title.

Rajasthan royals (2008) – Rajasthan Royals won the inaugural season by defeating CSK.
