New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): The ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025 will be jointly organized in India and Sri Lanka this time. The opening ceremony of the World Cup will be held on September 30 at Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, for which preparations are in full swing.
Pakistani team will not come to India… kept distance from the opening ceremony of Women's World Cup : All the participating teams were to attend the opening ceremony, after which a press conference and photoshoot with the trophy were also scheduled. However, now the news has come out that the Pakistani women's cricket team will not participate in this opening ceremony. According to the report of Pakistani media channel Geo Super, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused to send its team or any representative to the opening ceremony. The reason behind this is said to be a mutual agreement made between the cricket boards of India and Pakistan, according to which the teams of both the countries will not play in each other's country for the next three years.
This decision started with the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, in which India played all its matches in Dubai. Under this agreement, now the Pakistan women's team will play all its World Cup matches at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
If the Pakistani team reaches the semi-finals or finals, those matches will also be held in Colombo. Pakistan will start its World Cup campaign with a match against Bangladesh on October 2, while its match against India is scheduled for October 5. Fatima Sana will captain the Pakistan women's team, while Muniba Ali will play the role of vice-captain. The team also includes experienced players like Alia Riaz, Diana Baig and Nashra Sandhu.
