New Delhi/Sangli (The Uttam Hindu): The uncertainty surrounding the wedding of Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal continues, as fresh rumours about a December 7 ceremony have now been dismissed by Mandhana’s brother. His statement makes it clear that no wedding is happening at the moment.

Originally, the wedding was scheduled for November 23 in Sangli, and preparations were nearly complete. However, the plan was called off when Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a sudden health emergency and had to be hospitalized. The following day, groom-to-be Palash Muchhal also fell ill due to stress and was admitted to the hospital. Both families decided to postpone the wedding, placing health as their priority. Although both have recovered now, the new wedding date remains undecided.

On Tuesday, when rumours spread that the wedding had been rescheduled for December 7, Smriti’s brother, Shravan Mandhana, clarified the situation while speaking to Hindustan Times. He said he had no knowledge of such reports and stated clearly that the wedding is still postponed, with no new date finalized. His statement has put an end to the ongoing speculation on social media.

Adding to the confusion, Smriti Mandhana recently deleted old pictures and posts featuring Palash Muchhal from her social media account. Meanwhile, quiet discussions suggest allegations that Palash was involved with a choreographer and had been unfaithful to Smriti, though neither side has officially confirmed this. Palash’s mother, Amita Muchhal, acknowledged that relations between the two families are currently strained, but maintained that the wedding will still happen. Amid all these developments, fans are waiting to see whether the couple will eventually marry or if the relationship heads in another direction.
