Yograj Singh Slams MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev, Levels Serious Accusations
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : Speaking on the Asia Cup, he said, "If India wants to win the Asia Cup, Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma will have to bat the first 15 overs. The more time they spend on the pitch, the better it will be for India. I am very happy with the way Abhishek batted against Bangladesh. He took time to settle in, and once he got going, he just kept hitting. If he hadn't been run out, he could have scored more than 150 runs alone. Abhishek's arrival has strengthened the Indian team. Gill will have to bat like this too. He will have to move beyond scoring 40 and 50."
Regarding the comparison between the Indian team and Pakistan, the former cricketer said, "There's no comparison between our team and Pakistan. Look at the record of the last 20 years. Pakistan has lost most of the times. So there's no comparison. Not just in cricket, but in anything else, Pakistan is nothing compared to India. Against Bangladesh, we scored 168 and won by 41 runs despite dropping several catches."
He said, "Shoaib Akhtar has talked about improving the Pakistan team. Other former cricketers should also come forward. However, it remains to be seen how much or what changes these people will make to the Pakistan team. Currently, the Indian team is far ahead of any other team in ODIs and T20s. New Zealand and Australia can certainly give us some competition. There is no team in Asia."
