Bageshwar Dham's Dhirendra Shastri: 'Hindu nation won't come through abuse, end casteism instead
Banda (The Uttam Hindu): Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, the head priest of Bageshwar Dham, delivered a powerful and clear message to the Hindu community during a religious event held in Banda. Dhirendra Shastri, who is often in the news for his outspoken statements, this time held a mirror up to his followers. He stated clearly from the stage that India cannot become a "Hindu nation" by cursing or abusing Muslims. For this, Hindus must first introspect and root out the internal evils prevalent in society.
"Say goodbye to casteism, only then will we be brothers"
On Friday, Sunderkand and Hanuman Chalisa recitation was organised at the residence of Sadar MLA Prakash Dwivedi at Khurhand station. Dhirendra Shastri, who reached Banda again after ten days of the divine Hanuman Katha, while addressing the devotees said that Hindus should note one thing of mine carefully. The goal will not be achieved by merely targeting other religions. Describing the roadmap for a Hindu nation, he said that removing the shortcomings of Sanatan Dharma should be the first priority. Giving a slogan to the crowd present, he said that there is only one way to make India a Hindu nation - 'Say goodbye to casteism, we all Hindus are brothers.'
A dig at divorce and court appearances
In his usual style, Bageshwar Sarkar also took a dig at marital laws and the divorce process. He compared the two, saying that while divorce is granted with just three utterances, in our society (Hindu society/law), divorce doesn't occur until 20 to 25 court appearances. He also indirectly remarked to a particular community, "It's a good thing, if you follow the rules, you'll benefit."
'How will you get Hanumanji's blessings if you offer a sheet?'
Pandit Dhirendra Shastri advised Hindus not to waver in their faith. He said that our job is to go to God's door, and His job is to fix things. But if you want Hanuman's blessings, you must have unwavering faith in him. He said that it is impossible to sometimes visit shrines, offer a sheet, or light a candle, and then complain that Hanuman is not showing mercy. He clarified, "Instead of wandering here and there, leave everything completely to God; He will never let your faith break."
